Farewell BSG

Thank you cast of Battlestar, for being one of the greatest assembled group of talented actors I've ever witnessed on a television series. And thank you Ronald Moore and the entire crew of writers and creative minds that brought about such a fantastic show.

In case you missed it the finale to the phenomenal sci-fi television series Battlestar Galactica has came and went. And what a send off it turned out to be... truly one of the few shows that (for me at least) will define the best television this decade had to offer...
I should also mention a thank you to composer Bear McCreary for creating perhaps the best rendition of Jimi Hendrix's All Along the Watchtower I've ever heard. It's no easy feat taking an original concept and transforming it into something new and exciting, but that's exactly what both Bear, and to a larger extent Ronald Moore did with this series from the start. Who'd have ever thought I'd be praising a remake of a show I once ridiculed and dismissed as outdated cool.

The end of Battlestar Galactica?... Spoiler alert...

Apparently the end of Battlestar Galactica's season four was somehow leaked to the net and ended up on youtube... yes I know, shocking to say the least. I've decided to post it here for those of you who can't wait to find out what surprising finale twists await this popular sci-fi series... be forewarned though, the discovery of 'Earth' was a life altering experience for many of the cast favorites wink...

The Return of Battlestar Galactica

Battlestar Galactica has returned for it's fourth and final season, and already it's off to a roaring start. If you haven't yet caught this fantastic series, I couldn't recommend it any higher. This show in essence has redefined the Sci-Fi genre as we know it... and in my humble opinion, in terms of it's focus on fear, terror, religion, war, redemption and salvation, it'll be remembered as an encapsulation of how this decade will be remembered for years to come.

Check out the previous Battlestar posts, and don't forget to watch this awesome series as it wraps up it's final season later this year.

Jamie Bamber

Ultra-gorgeous British actor Jamie Bamber from the popular Sci-fi series, Battlestar Galactica.

Jamie plays Captain Lee "Apollo" Adama, a high ranking officer on the ship and the son of the Admiral himself, Commander Adama (played by the brilliant James Olmos)

Jamie Bamber at Comicon in February of 2007.

Jamie tends to show off his killer body from time to time on the show... His infamous towel scene is just one such example.

Not only does he look perfect, he pulls off a perfect American accent to boot. If it weren't for the fact that Battlestar is already such an excellent series, I'd say he's one of the reasons that I watch it. But as it is though, the show's outstanding... and he's an nice icing (or should I say eyecandy) on the cake :-)

Battlestar Galactica - Razor

For the fans of Battlestar Galactica, this is for you. Battlestar Galactica Razor is the perfect interlude to keep fans satiated until the series makes its return next year. I've recently had a chance to watch the made for TV movie chronicling the desparate battle for survival that took place on the Battlestar Pegasus after the destruction of the human colonies... I have to say, it was outstanding. Far better than what I expected. The show picks up from where Captain Lee Adama (Jamie Bamber) is handed control of the Pegasus after its former captain, Rear Admiral Cain, is murdered. It follows the storyline of Kendra Shaw played by Aussie actress Stephanie Chaves-Jacobsen, who does a brilliant job in her own right portraying the guilt burden she carries as a result of some of her actions during the Pegasus' darkest hours. This episode in the Battlestar Galactica series has a very ominous feel to it, and plays as the perfect foreshadow for the upcoming final season airing next year. Although I highly recommend Razor for anyone who's already a fan of the show, for any new comer, there's a ton of back-story to trek through which would be essential for actually knowing what's going and how it impacts the plot.

Although the show hasn't aired yet, an excellent quality DVD screener is available through torrents. I really enjoyed this mini-movie so I'll be watching it again when it actually airs in a few weeks.

This clip is actually from the beginning of season 3, and features the chaotic escape from New Caprica, with the final sacrificial voyage of the Battlestar Pegasus ultimately being used as a means for escape.
