Things are looking good...

Although I've tried my best to ween myself from the impeccable gorgeousness/hotness/gorgeousity (whatever you want to call his appeal mrgreen)... it feels like 28 year-old actor Chris Pine just keeps sucking me back in... (it's gotta be the eyes cool)...

Anyhow, the latest Star Trek iteration (or better put J.J. Abrams re-imagination) of the Star Trek franchise is set for wide release just less than a month from now... As you might imagine the worldwide marketing campaign is also starting to get into the swing of things with premiers being hosted in pretty much all four corners of the globe, magazine spreads galore, and lots and lots of interviews...

So what's the verdict thus far for those who've had the pleasure of getting a screening of the movie? Well let's see... a five minute standing ovation at the Sydney opera house, an 'Out of this World' headline from the Dailymail... oh and a 100% rating from Rottentomates (at least for the time being).... All in all it looks like we might have more than just your 'average' summer blockbuster on our hands mrgreen...

I probably would've seen it anyway even with less than stellar reviews, but I think the early praise makes it all the more worthwhile. You can check out more on the early Star Trek screening reaction here. Also if you've had a chance to check out the magazine section at your local supermarket, you might've noticed a certain leading hottie on the May issue of Men's Health. You can read up on the article here.

To boldly go where no man has gone before is to manage to breathe life into a franchise four decades old and actually succeed in bringing it into the 21st century. I can't wait to see this one...

Chris Pine: The Eyes Have It

Do you by any chance recognize this face?
No? Well give it about a years time and maybe you will mrgreen... Introducing Hollywood's next (potential) leading man, the absolutely breath-taking stunner with the sky-shaded eyes, 27 year-old Los Angeles native Christopher Pine...

Odds are a few of you may already be familiar with Christopher's past work from his lesser-known teen-oriented projects such as The Princess Diaries 2 or Blind Dating. Chris worked for about 3 years (starting in 2003) on both big and small screen projects, building up his acting resume until his breakout role in 2006's gangster-crime thriller Smokin' Aces... (admittedly where he was somewhat unrecognizable)...

Since then of course, Chris's career has blasted off into the stratosphere with his recent casting as the upcoming Star Trek remake's Captain Kirk...

Assuming of course this movie comes out as well as all signs are pointing to, Chris Pine may without a doubt become an A-list star... only time will tell for sure mrgreen...
But for now... I suppose we can settle for his sheer gorgeousness...
Chris to post
And yes, the eyes do have it... Just Beautiful...

Sexy 2009 Star Trek? I can't wait...

Zachary Quinto from Heroes along with Smokin' Aces' Chris Pine and up-and-coming hottie Anton Yelchin... all in the same future 2009 sci-fi blockbuster? Is this a dream or has director J.J. Abrams been perusing through my fantasies and presented me with an early Christmas present mrgreen...

Sci-fi + Chris Pine in an underwear scene?... Ok, J.J. that's enough, you can come out of my head now cool...

So anyway, all kidding aside, you may have noticed I am a big sci-fi fan, but I wouldn't exactly describe myself as a 'Trekkie' per say... as a matter of fact, I've never been one for the stale look at the future that the ultimately dated Star Trek universe has been pushing now for almost five decades now. If anything, I'm more of the Battlestar Galactica/Firefly in-your-face action type... But I'm willing to give Star Trek another chance after having caught this a few days ago...
Now I'm not going to raise my expectations too high, so as to avoid dissapointment should this movie fail to live up to the hype... but yeah, from the current looks of things, this movie is turning out to be a veritable geek's wet dream. And judging from how everything geeky is cool nowadays, expect this to be next summer's biggest hit...

And expect these two to be next summer's biggest stars cool...
