I'd really love to find out who exactly the artist was for both the main version on the left and alternate to the right. These two pictures had to have been drawn by the same person... I'd be shocked if it turned out a third party fan-artist managed to seamlessly photo-manipulate Jean Grey to the point of perfectly replacing her with Nightcrawler.

Slash fanart yaoi at its finest...

A couple of days ago I was contacted by a reader named Andrew regarding the origins of some random art pieces I featured a few months back in a post titled 'Lord of the Rings: Fantasy'... the post was basically about a slash fanart rendition of Legolas and Frodo/Sam from Lord of the Rings. Suffice to say it took a little searching here and there, but I finally managed to recall the origins of where the gorgeous pics came from... so I thought I might as well share them with everyone....

Although not much information exists on the creator/creators of these gorgeous fanart renditions of Jack and Ianto from Torchwood, or Harry Potter/Draco Malfoy below, these pieces all originated from an internet artist (or art group) that goes by the name of Theban Band.

The better majority of the Theban Band's art focuses on fanart, manips, and digital rendering, creating pretty neat pair-ups between some well-known characters from recent movies (and television series) ranging from Torchwood, to Pirates of the Caribbean, Smallville, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, and of course Lord of the Rings... (just to name a few)...

Just Beautiful... would you believe it if I told you Aragorn and Borimir was a pairing I'd never really conceptualized? Legolas and someone else maybe... And of course Frodo and Sam have been a slash fanart favorite for years... but somehow Borimir slipped my mind ...

I'm not sure if the Theban Band still operates, or whether or not they're still producing fanart, but they still have a webpage, livejournal, and a Deviantart page up for your viewing pleasure ...

Slash fanart at its finest indeed, I wonder what Jack Sparrow is looking for ?

The artwork of Drachea

Just gorgeous, I love the internet... there - are - so many great artists online right now, it's staggering. One such member of that 'great internet artist' club happens to be a man who goes by the name of DracheaRannak...

I've done a previous post on Mr. 'Rannak' but his work was so good, I've decided to dedicate another one to him. His art is mostly extraordinarily vivid, and tends to have an anime styled influence which I love.

This last one is my all time favorite of his. Make sure to check out his work over at his Deviantart page... oh, and I think I should also mention, Mr. DracheaRannak is not only an incredible artist, but the guy is an incredibly gorgeous man as well, wow.

The artwork of Masanori

Easily one top five favorite yaoi/bara artists... the ultra-talented (yet somewhat mysterious) Masanori.

He's not really all that mysterious, but I feel the term is applicable, considering trying to find any information on this guy is like trying to look up someone who doesn't exist. His artwork is practically everywhere, but personal information regarding the artist is almost non-existent.

That being said, you may remember some of Masanori's work from a previous art post featuring the guys from the Hunks Workshop computer game.

Masanori gained internet fame back in 2004 for his sensual/seductive portrayal of Capcom's Rival School male characters. He's completed quite a few works featuring these characters since then, including the picture posted above of Roy... (incidentally enough, this character was also my favorite hottie from the game ).

As was previously mentioned, Masanori is not only known for his anime-styled erotic portrayal of the male body... he's also had his hand in making several similarly themed mangas and a couple of flash games, including strip mahjong, and of course the popular Hunks Workshop title.

A few favorites

Easily one of the best artists on Y! Gallery, Crisart's rendition of Apollo and Midnighter is impeccable.

I've actually posted several of of Crisart's stuff a few months back, but I thought I'd add a couple more of my favorites.

The Robin/Nightwing and Robin/Superboy pairing has always been slash fanfic favorite. Aside from innuendos at times, don't expect to be seeing this in any comics anytime soon unfortunately ...

Awesome Art

Joe Phillips is probably hands down one of my favorite gay artists in the business. Definitely a truly, truly gifted individual.. I would describe his work as being both wildly creative, and acutely erotic all at once. It's a great combination that makes for some pretty neat stuff.

His art tends to have a comic-book style angle to it... which makes sense considering he worked at DC comics very early in his career.

The two above are some of my favorites... ultra cute, the both of them. What I wouldn't give for half this guy's talent. Granted I can manage to picture hot guys in my head, but the execution of getting them on paper and drawing them, hasn't really gone over so well in the past ...
