Firefox 3 Download Day approacheth

Never in my life have I ever seen such an overhyped web browser debut... or more accurately an overhyped web browser pre-debut... Firefox 3 doesn't officially release until June 17th (next week), but that hasn't stopped the good people over at Mozilla from finding creative avenues to drive up interest in what may possibly end up being the 'fastest' browser available (we'll see).

They're hoping to set a world record in single-day software download history... already well over a million people from all over the world have pledged to participate in this effort. Some have even gone as far as pledging to host Firefox 3 download day parties (I'm assuming it's a bring your own laptop event? )... Anyway, you can check out the specs for the soon to be released mother of all browsers, the details seem quite impressive, but I'm still somewhat skeptical.
