Chris Hemsworth: Before Star Trek

About a day after Australian actor Chris Hemsworth's American debut in the Star Trek role of Captain Kirk's father, his popularity rating on IMDb rose about 3,000%... can you tell a couple people might've taken notice?

Who'd have thought a short stint in a 10-minute intro could garner that much attention. Of course it doesn't hurt if you happen to be gorgeous and pretty much the spitting image of the film's lead star... but yeah, 25 year-old actor's Chris Hemsworth's international acting career may have jumped ahead several miles on account of the great job he did playing George Kirk...
And to think... just a couple months before leaving Australia for LA, and landing his role in Star Trek, he was doing this cool...
The old Chris was indeed hot, but the new Chris is both hot and internationally famous. Plus Chris currently has two lead roles coming up this year, along with one starring opposite Milla Jovovich. So yeah, I think it's safe to say a new leading-man Aussie actor may have arrived.
